*ATTENTION CITIZENS OF MARTIN COUNTY*

July 14, 2008

Blake Library - Armstrong Room
5pm - Supervisor of Elections - Outreach Presentation
6pm - Presentation by the Sarasota Group

The Martin County Consensus, Inc. will present a forum by "Citizens for Sensible Growth", a Sarasota group, on July 14, 6:00 PM at the Blake Library, Armstrong Room.

"Citizens for Sensible Growth" is the group on Florida's west coast that is fast becoming a role model for citizens' initiatives to control growth in Florida.

One of the Sarasota group's ballot initiatives won voter approval by 71 percent. This requires a super majority to approve any amendment to the county's growth plan which would add density or intensity.

Representatives from the Martin County Consensus, Inc met with Citizens for Sensible Growth on Friday, June 20, and it was agreed they will come to Martin County  on July 14  to explain to interested persons how the group was successful in getting control of the unbridled growth in Sarasota County.

The July 14th forum is open to the public. We urge those organizations and individuals interested in maintaining our quality of life in Martin County to attend this forum.

At 5:00 PM on the same date, July 14, the Martin County Consensus, Inc will present the Martin County Supervisor of Elections, Vickie Davis, with her community outreach program which assists residents with registering to vote, changing party affiliation as well as the operation of the new voting machines.
